Zarzuela!

Zarzuela!

AN INTRODUCTION

Welcome to zarzuela.net

This site aims to provide a useful entry point into a world of lyric theatre which remains little known to many music lovers, especially outside the Hispanic world. Zarzuela is to Spain what Gilbert & Sullivan is to England, Offenbach to Paris, Operetta to Vienna, the musical to Broadway - and much more!

Looking for that elusive zarzuela CD, or for Videos, Scores, sheet music and performance details? Try the CD Magazine and Information sections. There are some useful links to potential sources in both sections.

You'll also find reference articles here on zarzuela history, composers, writers, a singers' gallery ... and of course pages devoted to some of the most famous zarzuelas themselves. Material is added on a regular basis, and any suggestion/source information is extremely welcome.
